DraftKings NHL: Saturday Picks

DraftKings NHL: Saturday Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

It may be Saturday, but with the weather how it is in much of the country, you may not be in the mood to go out. So why not just watch some NHL hockey instead? There are nine games Saturday night, which gives you lots of options for your daily fantasy lineup. Here are some of my recommendations.

GOALIE

Jordan Binnington, STL vs. OTT ($7,700): Binnington has only appeared in a handful of games, but in that time he's posted a 1.55 GAA and .937 save percentage. That's certainly better than Jake Allen this year. The Senators have only managed 27.7 shots on net per game on the road, and they are also on the second night of a back-to-back in this one.

CENTER

Ryan O'Reilly, STL vs. OTT ($5,900): O'Reilly has been absolutely tearing it up recently, as he has 14 points in his last 12 contests. That gives him 46 points in 46 games on the season. Now he gets to face a Senators team that is truly awful defensively. They have a 4.50 GAA in away games, and they are also on the second leg of a back-to-back.

David Krejci, BOS vs. NYR ($5,100): Thanks to three assists in his last outing, Krejci has a five-game point streak. Overall, he has 40 points in 48 contests. As for the Rangers, they actually have a whopping 4.17 GAA on the road, second highest in the NHL.

WING

Viktor Arvidsson, NAS vs. FLA ($7,200): Arvidsson has been on a tear since returning from injury. In 12 games, he's notched 10 goals on 50 shots. Meanwhile, the Panthers have also struggled defensively on the road. They have a 3.88 GAA in away games, and are another team on the second night of a back-to-back.

Jaden Schwartz, STL vs. OTT ($4,900): Schwartz only has three goals, but his 3.4 percent shooting is bound to improve. A matchup with a Senators team with a 4.50 GAA on the road could certainly help on that front. Plus, he does have six assists in his last nine contests.

James van Riemsdyk, PHI at MON ($4,800): Van Riemsdyk has started 54.3 percent of his shifts in the offensive zone, highest among Flyers forwards. He got off to a bit of a slow start after his return from injury, but thanks to five goals in his last four games he has 11 goals in 31 contests. Since the Canadiens are on the second night of a back-to-back, Antti Niemi will likely be in goal. The Finnish netminder has a 3.63 GAA and .897 save percentage.

DEFENSE

Jared Spurgeon, MIN vs. CLM ($5,200): With Mathew Dumba out, Spurgeon has a slightly larger role for the Wild, including on the power play. He's notched eight points in his last nine games, giving him 27 points on the season. The Blue Jackets are also on the road for the second night of a back-to-back. Additionally, their goalies have a collective .904 save percentage.

Alex Pietrangelo, STL vs. OTT ($5,000): Again, the Senators have a 4.50 road GAA and are on the second night of a back-to-back. They've allowed 37.2 shots on net per contest away from home. This is as good of a matchup as you will find. As for Pietrangelo, he has six points and 31 shots on net through 11 games since returning from injury.
