DraftKings NHL: Wednesday Playoff Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

DraftKings has showdown contests for Game 2 between Washington and Vegas. There are six flex lineup slots to fill while staying under a $50,000 salary cap, and it's important to note the scoring settings are different from regular multi-game contests.

One strategy to consider is using both goalies. The series opener was a high-scoring track meet, but it wouldn't be shocking if both teams tightened up defensively. Plus, the two netminders are easy to fit under the cap.

Evgeny Kuznetsov, WAS ($11,000): Sporting an 11-game point streak consisting of six goals and 10 assists, Kuznetsov has been as consistent as any scorer in the postseason. His shot volume has also increased, as he's registered 11.35 shots and 17.09 attempts per 60 minutes, which up from his 7.55 and 14.44 marks during the regular season.

Reilly Smith, VGK ($10,000): Often overlooked as the third-wheel of Vegas' No. 1 line, Smith offers nice value at this salary. Even with two goals through his past three games, there's positive regression ahead of his 8.1 playoff shooting percentage, and his 15 helpers through 16 games highlight his playmaking prowess.

Marc-Andre Fleury, VGK ($8,500): Before Game 1, Fleury had allowed two goals or fewer in four straight outings with a .956 save percentage, and he boasts a .942 mark for the postseason. As noted, it would be shocking if both teams weren't a little more conservative after Monday's high-scoring affair, so Fluery's in position to return value.

Braden Holtby, WAS ($7,000): Similar to his counterpart, Holtby entered the Stanley Cup Finals in elite form following consecutive shutouts to eliminate the Lightning. He owns a .919 save percentage and 2.21 GAA since reassuming his starting role in Round 1, and the Caps have allowed just 1.88 goals per 60 minutes at five-on-five during the playoffs.

Shea Theodore, VGK ($5,700): With two goals, six assists, 30 shots and 23 blocked shots through 16 postseason games, Theodore is proving to be an excellent fantasy asset. He's leading all Vegas defensemen in Corsi For percentage (53.55) and has also been on the ice for the most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes (15.96).

Jakub Vrana, WAS ($4,900): The young speedster has gone nine games -- 22 shots -- without a goal. He's skating on the second line with veterans Nicklas Backstrom and T.J. Oshie, and the trio was on the ice for an incredible 29.93 high-danger scoring chances while driving possession with a 58.62 Corsi For percentage at even strength. This salary opens oodles of spending room, too.
