DraftKings NHL: Saturday/Sunday Playoff Picks

DraftKings NHL: Saturday/Sunday Playoff Picks

This article is part of our DraftKings NHL series.

GOALIE

Andrei Vasilevskiy, TB vs. WAS ($8,200): Look for a bounce-back showing from Valisevskiy and the Bolts in Game 2. The Lightning came out flat Friday following a six-day layoff, which mirrored their struggles in the opening game against Boston in Round 2. Vasilevskiy rebounded against the Bruins with four consecutive wins and a .936 save percentage. Recency bias might also keep the Russian's ownership in check.

CENTER

Mark Scheifele, WPG vs. VGK ($7,000): The No. 1 center has now marked the scoresheet in seven of his last nine games for 10 goals, five assists, seven multi-point showings. Scheifele has also moved the needle in the supporting categories with 23 shots and 12 blocked shots during that stretch. There should be negative regression ahead of Marc-Andre Fleury's .951 playoff save percentage, too.

Anthony Cirelli, TB vs. WAS ($3,400):
The rookie's line was strong in Game 1, as he combined with wingers Yanni Gourde and Alex Killorn for a 64.71 Corsi For percentage. The salary room Cirelli opens spending elsewhere, and his 6.3 shooting percentage is unsustainably low.

WING

Nikita Kucherov, TB vs. WAS ($7,500): While the winger sports a three-game point streak, Kucherov has also gone seven consecutive outings without a multi-point showing. He's locked into a go-to offensive role, and considering his 3.67 points per 60 minutes ranks second in the league the last two regular seasons, this salary is reasonable.

Jonathan Marchessault, VGK at WPG ($6,600):
The two-year scoring binge continued against San Jose last round, as Marchessault collected four goals, five assists and 24 shots through six games. The Jets a daunting opponent, but they've also allowed four goals or more in four games during the postseason, so there have been defensive lapses.

Kyle Connor, WPG vs. VGK ($5,000):
The third wheel on the No. 1 line, Connor was at his best at the end of Round 2 with two goals, three assists and 10 shots over the final three games of the series. He's connected with linemates Mark Scheifele and Blake Wheeler for an impressive 3.28 goals per 60 minutes at even strength during the playoffs, and his salary also stands out as a solid value.

DEFENSE

Dustin Byfuglien, WPG vs. VGK ($5,800): This price doesn't match Byfuglien's fantasy floor or ceiling. He's recorded four goals, nine assists, 36 shots and 19 blocked shots while logging 26:17 of ice time (2:40 on the power play) through 12 postseason contests, and he also has the luxury of not being locked in against the opposition's top scorers at five-on-five.

Mikhail Sergachev, TB vs. WAS ($3,600):
The rookie looked dangerous at times in Game 1 and registered three shots and four attempts. Sergachev quarterbacks the No. 2 power-play unit and has been on the ice for the most high-danger scoring chances per 60 minutes of all Tampa Bay defensemen. He's positioned to snap his four-game point drought.
