Keith Mitchell
27-Year-Old Golfer
2018–19 Fantasy Outlook
Mitchell finished runner-up at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship and 3rd at the AT&T Byron Nelson, but he probably earned more air time for crashing the top-70 while playing at the Dell Technologies Championship in early September. Lost in all of that perhaps was that Mitchell was a rookie this season...who finished inside the top-70 on the FedEx points list. Not a bad start to one's career. In addition to the runner up and 3rd-place finish, he posted two additional top-10s throughout the season and made 21 of 29 cuts. Mitchell is just 26 and he could be an elite player someday, but the fact remains that there's a lot unknown about him at this stage. As such, the bar is simply set too high to take him in a salary cap league this season. Read Past Outlooks
Disappointing final round at Sony
January 14, 2019
Mitchell fell into a tie for 16th place after shooting a two-over 72 in the final round of the Sony Open on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Mitchell got himself into the final group on Sunday thanks to a seven-under 63 on Saturday that brought him to 14-under-par, four behind 54-hole leader Matt Kuchar. The Georgia alum got off to a dreadful start on a course that you have to go get. He went his first nine with four bogeys and no birdies. Mitchell was able to avoid anymore bogeys the rest of the way and made birdies on 15 and 18 to salvage something. His ball striking was really good this week, ranking 12th in both SG: Off-the-tee and SG: Approach. Mitchell was also fifth in SG: Tee-to-green, but was 66th in SG: Putting. The 27-year-old now has three top-25's in five starts this season. He will try to heat up the putter in his next start, but it won't be at the Desert Classic.

2017 Fantasy Outlook
After missing out on the top-25 on the Web.com Tour and automatic PGA Tour exemption by just one slot, Mitchell forged through the Web.com Tour Finals with a strong showing to earn his PGA Tour card for the first time. On the Web.com last year Mitchell posted six top-10s including his best finish, a third at the News Sentinel Open. Mitchell's clear strength is his immense length off the tee that affords him plenty of birdies or better on par-5s, but the rest of his game has room for improvement. Mitchell could surprise at some weaker-fielded events where length is advantageous, but otherwise shouldn't be on your radar this season.
