Tournament Preview

The European Tour is off to Germany this week after an exciting finish at The Open Championship, where Francesco Molinari was victorious. The European Open is at Green Eagles Golf Courses for the second year in a row. It is one of the longest courses on tour at 7,583 yards. It is a parkland course with water throughout. Distance off the tee and accuracy to the greens will be key, as Green Eagles tests all aspects of your game.

DRAFTINGS PICKS

Patrick Reed - $11,800 (9/1)

The Masters Champion returns to Hamburg where he was T19 last year. Reed's solid form has continued all season long. He should have another strong performance this week, with five par-5s on this course. He leads the European Tour in par-5 scoring. Expect Reed to make a hard push to get his number one spot back in The Race to Dubai.

Aaron Rai - $9,600 (33/1)

Rai enters the tournament with two top-10s in his last four starts. He finished T9 at Scottish Open last time out. This will be his first time at European Open, but he has the skills and form to succeed. He is ranked 34th on tour in greens in regulation and 90th in par-5 scoring. He isn't the longest off the tee, but compensates with his accuracy. He is ranked 37th in SG: off the tee.

Stephen Gallacher - $7,500 (66/1)

Gallacher has had a few top-10 finishes this year. The most recent was his last start at Scottish Open, where he finished T9. He is ranked 66th on tour in SG: off the tee, being long and accurate. He finished T12 last year at Green Eagles Golf Course, so he would appear to be arriving with confidence.

Maximilian Kieffer - $7,100 (125/1)

Kieffer comes with a bit of risk. He enters this tournament following three missed cuts in a row, but at only $7,100, I think this local is worth considering. He is ranked 25th on tour in SG: off the tee and 65th in par 5 scoring. He was moving along nicely earlier this season with a couple T12s. He is solid with his irons, ranking 77th on tour in greens in regulation. Maximilian finished T47 last year at Green Eagles.
