Jernigan tallied two tackles over three games in 2018.
ANALYSIS
Surgery to correct a herniated disc in his back delayed Jernigan's 2018 debut, and he wasn't a huge factor on defense until the playoffs, when Jernigan outproduced his regular-season numbers by 12 defensive snaps, one tackle and one sack in one less game. While the 2014 second-rounder remains under contract with the Eagles through 2021, Jernigan is set to cost $13 million against the cap in 2019, making it likely his days in Philly are over.

Jernigan landed in Philadelphia as part of an offseason trade with the Ravens and now looks to be a starter thanks to Beau Allen’s injury. After a lackluster first three years in the league, Jim Schwartz’s 4-3 defense will offer Jernigan the opportunity for a bit of a breakout. This could be especially true for Jernigan in the sack department, as linemen in Schwartz’s defenses often get more opportunities to attack the quarterback.
Jernigan failed to build upon a promising rookie campaign in 2015, logging three games without a tackle while never really seeming to be operating at full-tilt. Nonetheless, he enters the 2016 season as a returning starter at defensive end, and could very well top the four-sack mark he's reached in each of his first two seasons in the league. Still, he leaves a lot to be desired in the tackle department and isn't worthy of fantasy consideration in IDP formats.
Viewed as a potential first-round pick, Jernigan fell to Baltimore in the second round, and he could compete for a starting job from the get-go. As a rookie interior lineman on a team that largely uses a 3-4 alignment, Jernigan is unlikely to make much of an IDP impact, despite his excellent potential.
