Knee - ACL
August 24, 2021
The Ravens placed Fort (ACL) on injured reserve Monday.
ANALYSIS
As expected, Fort's torn ACL has forced him to injured reserve. The nine-year veteran is coming off a career-high 54 tackles in 14 games for the Ravens last year. Malik Harrison and Chris Board are now set to compete for the backup linebacker spot behind Patrick Queen.

Could sign with Ravens
LBFree Agent
September 29, 2019
The Ravens could sign Fort early this week, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
ANALYSIS
Zrebiec suggests the team is open to changing the personnel after getting gashed by Nick Chubb for 165 yards and three touchdowns in Week 4. Fort was cut by the Eagles on Friday, and had recorded only two tackles in four games. A seven-year veteran, Fort previously played with the Steelers, Seahawks and Browns, primarily contributing on special teams.

Fort is back in Baltimore for a third season. He racked up a career-high 53 tackles in 14 games and was also a contributor on special teams. The Ravens hope that second-year linebacker Malik Harrison can push Fort for snaps, but Fort enters camp as the favorite to start alongside Patrick Queen at inside linebacker.
Fort was a quality in-season acquisition last season for the Ravens, racking up 35 tackles and 2.0 sacks in 12 games. However, the Ravens' run defense as a whole was a weak spot on that unit as they allowed 4.4 yards per carry on the year. The Ravens addressed that issue by drafting a pair of linebackers in the first three rounds in April. Fort will likely open as a starter alongside first-rounder Patrick Queen, but as a journeyman who has never played more than 306 snaps in a single season, there's no guarantee that Fort carves out an every-down role for all 16 games. He profiles as a rotational piece who could lose snaps as the season unfolds.
Fort has played in just one NFL game in the past three years, and starts the 2016 season buried on the Steelers' linebacker depth chart.
Fort recorded 20 tackles, one sack, and one interception in his rookie season with Cleveland. His action included one start, but he'll begin the 2013 season as a backup.
Fort was signed as an undrafted rookie in May. The odds of him making the team were slim, until a season-ending injury to Chris Gocong, and a suspension to team leader Scott Fujita really thinned the linebacking corps. He will now get snaps in 2012, and add depth to the defense.
