2018 Fantasy Outlook
A free-agent acquisition, Curry has been long on durability but a bit short on consistency in recent years. The veteran played in all 16 games in each of the last four seasons in Philadelphia, but outside of a nine-sack breakout in 2014, he hasn't exceeded four quarterback takedowns in any of his other five campaigns. However, Curry does have an ability to turn the corner on opposing tackles and rack up plenty of hurries, and he's also steadily improved as a run stopper over the course of his career. The seven-year pro topped out at 42 tackles last season, a solid figure for an end who was deployed in a part-time role. Curry is projected to serve as the opposing bookend to fellow offseason addition Jason Pierre-Paul on the defensive line, which should lead to a boost in snaps - and by extension - overall IDP production. Cut after one season in Tampa
DETampa Bay Buccaneers
February 12, 2019
The Buccaneers are releasing Curry on Tuesday, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Signed to a three-year, $27 million contract last offseason, Curry managed just 21 tackles and 2.5 sacks across 12 games (seven starts) in his lone season with Tampa Bay. The 30-year-old defensive end may draw interest as a potential starter on the free-agent market, but he'll presumably have to settle for a smaller contract this time around. The Bucs likely will transition to a 3-4 scheme -- or at least a hybrid version -- under new defensive coordinator Todd Bowles.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
Curry struggled with a knee issue during all of 2016, but still managed to play in all 16 games and post a career-high 26 tackles. Despite veteran Chris Long and 2017 first-round selection Derek Barnett joining the fold, Curry will still be a factor as part of a rotation and will look to boost his sack totals after not posting more than 3.5 over the last two seasons.
After notching nine sacks and four forced fumbles in 2014, Curry only reached the 3.5 sack mark in 2015 and didn't force any fumbles. However, not only has defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz spoken of playing Curry more, he also spoke of plans to put Curry in a more suitable position to succeed as the linebacker looked noticeably out of place on a frequent basis last season. After dishing out Curry over $47 million this offseason to stay in town, those comments have financial backing. If things go right, Curry could well surpass his career-high in sacks and be a value pick in IDP leagues.
Curry is an intriguing 2015 prospect. After an explosive 2014, in which he recorded 9.0 sacks and forced four fumbles while being on the field for just 32.1 percent of snaps, Curry will be looking for even more this season. With such a deep and talented linebacker corps, he’ll fight for his playing time, but he’ll also be able to take opponents by surprise like he did for much of last season.
A misfit in Philadelphia's 3-4, Curry might get cut before the fall if Philadelphia is unable to trade him.
Curry will serve as an undersized rotational end in Philadelphia's 3-4. With a small snap count, Curry is unlikely to make an IDP impact.
Curry is a second-round pick who was exceptionally productive at defensive end for Marshall, and he figures to start at end in the future for the Eagles. In 2012, though, he'll most likely serve as no more than a backup, minimizing any IDP value he might have.
