Stokes appeared in each of the Packers' last two games since coming off injured reserve in mid-December, but it seems as if his hamstring issue is bothering him once again and he'll now miss the remainder of the season. The 2021 first-round pick has really struggled to stay on the field over the past two years, playing in just 12 of Green Bay's 32 games. Stokes' move to IR likely makes room for Carrington Valentine to start in the Packers' secondary over the next two weeks.

He now has three weeks to ramp up his activity and be activated, and if he isn't, he'll be required to sit out the rest of the season. Stokes is likely out for Sunday's matchup against the Raiders, so given that the Packers have a Week 6 bye, the target date for his return appears to be an October 22nd contest against the Broncos.

Some raised an eyebrow when the Packers selected Stokes at the end of the first round last year, but no one was doing that by the end of his impressive rookie year. The Packers needed Stokes to step up with Jaire Alexander missing most of the season, and he wound up starting 14 of 16 games while grading out as one of the better coverage corners in the league. Although he had just one interception, he did register 14 pass deflections over 16 games. Stokes is slated to start opposite Alexander in 2022, and that duo plus Rasul Douglas could form one of the better cornerback trios in the league.
