2023 Fantasy Outlook
Felton returns for his fourth NFL season and has two fewer backs ahead of him on the depth chart. He's spent the first few years in a hybrid role, mostly practicing with the wideouts, but early in 2023 camp Felton joined the running back room. He's third in line behind Nick Chubb and Jerome Ford but could emerge as a third-down back in an offense that expects to throw more than it did in 2022. Read Past Outlooks

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Uphill battle for roster spot
Felton could play for the Browns at some point in 2023 but is unlikely to make the team's initial 53-man roster, according to Zac Jackson of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Workhorse Nick Chubb and 2022 fifth-round pick Jerome Ford should hold down the fort at running back, and there are numerous established veteran options available in free agency should one of those two get hurt. Given that context, Cleveland's more likely to use one of its final roster spots on another cornerback or pass rusher and try to stash Felton on the practice squad.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2022
2021
Felton, a sixth-round draft choice last year, was billed as a versatile back, capable of lining up as a receiver and returning kicks. The Browns fancied the UCLA product as a specialty player who could be used in bubble screens and other gimmicky options. He was active for all 16 games but played just 130 snaps on offense with 28 being his single-game high. Most of Felton's time was spent at wideout - that's where the most need was - but this coming season it appears as though the 5-9, 189-pounder will be used more as a running back, as well as a returner. Felton's path to regular snaps seems cloudy, however, given that Cleveland's backfield - which also includes Nick Chubb, Kareem Hunt and D'Ernest Johnson - became more crowded this offseason with the drafting of Je-rome Ford. Perhaps the Browns are simply adding insurance in case they don't sign Johnson, who is tendered, or decide to move Kareem Hunt, but Ford's addition nonetheless muddies Felton's role out of the gate.
