The Lions re-signed Hamilton (undisclosed) on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Hamilton missed the entire 2021 campaign due to an undisclosed injury, and he now heads into his fourth NFL season. Detroit re-signing Hamilton could speak to optimism about his recovery ahead of OTAs, but the 26-year-old nonetheless remains off the fantasy radar in all but the deepest of IDP formats.

Hamilton was respectable as a rotational defensive end with Washington over the past three seasons, but he spent most of his time on special teams, which shouldn't change now that he's in Detroit.
A 2018 sixth-round pick, Hamilton has played all 32 games through two pro seasons, making four starts (all as a rookie) while recording 76 tackles and 2.5 sacks. He'll likely handle a part-time role again in 2020, but a starting job could be in the cards if Washington is hit by injuries.
A 2018 sixth-round pick, Hamilton started four of 16 games his rookie season, notching 27 tackles (20 solo) and 1.5 sacks between 129 snaps on defense and 247 on special teams. He now has a good chance to earn a starting job on defense, with Mason Foster released this summer and Reuben Foster out for the year with a knee injury. Hamilton might even be tasked with a three-down role, in which case he'd be all but assured of IDP value.
