Muhammad was let go by the Cardinals on Saturday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Muhammad landed a reserve/futures contract with Arizona in January after he spent time on the Vikings' practice squad, but he was unable to remain on the roster ahead of the preseason opener. The 2017 seventh-rounder still hasn't appeared in an NFL game.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2017
Muhammad had a promising 2019 preseason, averaging 4.7 yards per carry. He flashed his track-star speed on runs of 31 and 47 yards against Atlanta and Arizona, respectively. That potential landed him on the practice squad and it's hard to see him cracking the active roster in 2020. Melvin Gordon significantly upgrades the running back room, and Muhammad is likely on the outside looking absent an injury or a surprise cut.
The former Cal track star averaged an impressive 5.9 yards per carry in his final two seasons in Berkeley and scorched the turf during his pro day in 2017 with a 4.35 40-yard dash. He hasn't yet earned a touch in the NFL, but lands in an interesting situation in Denver. The backfield is crowded with young potential stars in Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman, but new offensive coordinator Rich Scangarello is looking to install the same offense that made the similarly slight and speedy Matt Breida a threat in San Francisco. If he's unable to make his mark in the stable, Muhammad may carve out a role as a kick returner, a spot in which he tallied 1,931 yards during his college career.
This seventh-round rookie out of Cal brings a speed element currently lacking in Tennessee's running game. The 5-8 former track star ran a 4.35 40-yard dash at his pro day and demonstrated great hands in catching 55 passes in 44 games with the Golden Bears. If he can beat out David Fluellen for the No. 3 running back spot, look for the Titans to use Muhammad in a gadget role similar to the one filled by Dexter McCluster in 2014 and 2015.
