April 24, 2024
Hendrickson recently requested to be traded from Cincinnati, a league source tells Adam Schefter of ESPN.
ANALYSIS
Per Schefter, Hendrickson -- who is under contract for $15 million in 2024 and is on the books through 2025 -- is looking for more long-term security than the Bengals have been willing to offer to this point. The 29-year-old is coming of a 2023 campaign in which he recorded 43 tackles and made a major impact as a pass rusher by racking up a career-high 17.5 sacks over 17 games.

Wants out of Cincy
DECincinnati Bengals
April 24, 2024
Hendrickson has requested to be traded away from the Bengals, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.
ANALYSIS
Hendrickson's request comes just before the 2024 NFL Draft, so Cincinnati could get some picks in exchange for the three-time Pro Bowl defensive end if the Bengals acquiesce to Hendrickson's request and a deal comes together quickly. Coming off a 17.5-sack season, the 29-year-old Hendrickson is hoping to land a long-term contract, while Cincinnati hasn't offered an extension beyond the one year and $15 million remaining on Hendrickson's deal.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2021
Hendrickson is a good example of how and when to pay up in free agency. The Bengals paid a high price to reel in Hendrickson off the open market, but it was worthwhile because he’s a proven producer who’s still in his prime. He was an instant impact defender for Cincy, following up his 13.5-sack 2020 season with 14 in his first year with the Bengals. Unfortunately, the tackle totals will always be modest.
Hendrickson is coming off a career-year with the Saints, having notched 13.5 sacks playing opposite Cameron Jordan at defensive end. For his efforts, Cincinnati rewarded him with a four-year, $60 million deal, costing the Bengals more than what his predecessor, Carl Lawson, got with the Jets. We'll see if Hendrickson can replicate his success without opposing teams focusing on an elite teammate, such as he had with the Saints.
