Past Fantasy Outlooks
Before being selected in the seventh round of the 2017 draft, Dayes rushed for 1,166 yards and 10 touchdowns during his senior year at N.C. State. Stuck behind Isaiah Crowell and Duke Johnson, Dayes garnered just five carries for 13 yards last season. He's a patient runner, but at 5-9, 205 pounds, he lacks the size to be an every-down back, and with Carlos Hyde, Duke Johnson and Nick Chubb ahead of him on the depth chart, Dayes may not find himself on the Browns' 53-man roster.
Dayes, a seventh-round selection out of N.C. State, will compete for a reserve spot on the Browns' depth chart, as Isaiah Crowell and Duke Johnson are expected to handle the majority of the workload in the backfield. The 5-9, 205-pounder recorded 2,856 yards and 34 touchdowns in four years for the Wolfpack, adding 98 receptions for 933 yards and six scores. While it seems unlikely he'll make a major fantasy impact in 2017, he could develop into a nice third-down option, given his pass-catching ability.
