2018 Fantasy Outlook
An undrafted free agent in 2016, Foster made three appearances as a rookie with the Patriots, but the backfield was too stacked for him to make their 53-man roster after last preseason. He instead spent Week 1 on New England's practice squad, from which he was plucked by Arizona on the heels of David Johnson's dislocated wrist in the opener. Foster needed time to ingratiate himself with coach Bruce Arians and company, but another season-ending injury to Adrian Peterson forced the Cardinals' hand. From Week 11 onward, Foster was a receiving complement to starter Kerwynn Williams, reeling in 17 of 28 passes for 133 yards over the final seven games. With Johnson back to handle a workhorse role and the selection of fourth-rounder Chase Edmonds, Foster may be a healthy scratch weekly, assuming he lands a spot on the final squad. Read Past Outlooks

Sticking in Arizona
RBArizona Cardinals
March 8, 2019
The Cardinals signed Foster (knee) to a one-year contract Friday, Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com reports.
Foster has held promise since entering the NFL as an undrafted free agent in 2016, but he was active just 10 times in his first two seasons before tearing his ACL in August and missing the entire 2018 campaign. Assuming his rehab goes as planned, he may have a tough time supplanting those above him on the depth chart in Arizona, namely David Johnson, Chase Edmonds and T.J. Logan.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
Foster, who joined the Patriots as an undrafted free agent out of Arizona State, finished up his rookie season with seven carries for 24 yards and one catch for two yards over the course of three games for the Patriots. Every-down NFL work may not be in the cards for Foster, who is on the team's practice squad, but his RB/WR flexibility could help the 6-0, 195-pounder if injuries hit the New England backfield.
As an undrafted free agent, Foster will need to shine in the preseason in order to secure a roster spot, but he could well find his way with a role with the Patriots out of the gate, especially if Dion Lewis (knee) ends up being slowed early on. At 6-foot, 195 pounds, Foster profiles more as a change-of-pace option, with his quick feet potentially making him an asset to the team as a pass-catcher out of the backfield.
