Yahoo DFS Football: Week 13 Picks

Yahoo DFS Football: Week 13 Picks

This article is part of our Yahoo DFS Football series.

With bye weeks in the rear view mirror, the Sunday-only NFL main slate for Week 13 features 14 games, excluding only the Saints-Cowboys (Thursday Night Football), and Redskins-Eagles (Monday Night Football). That's still a lot of fantasy star power being taken off the table, but there are still plenty of options ready to pop in Sunday's games, including a pair of quarterbacks thriving in newfound starting roles of late and a star running back in a laughably easy matchup.

TOURNAMENTS (GPP – GUARANTEED PRIZE POOL)

QB: Lamar Jackson, BAL at ATL ($30): It looks like Jackson has a strong shot to remain Baltimore's starting quarterback even after Jose Flacco returns from his hip injury, and while his passing still needs refining, Jackson's rushing upside is tremendous. He racked up 190 yards and a touchdown on 37 carries in his first two starts, and a Falcons defense that's allowing the fifth-most scrimmage yards per game (396.7) and fourth-most points per game (27.9) should give the dual-threat quarterback plenty of opportunities to pull off big plays, be it with his arm or with his legs.

RB: Nick Chubb, CLE at HOU ($29): Conventional wisdom says to avoid facing Houston's seventh-ranked run defense, but Chubb is capable of defying that convention. He's got rushing scores in three straight games and receiving touchdowns in each of the past two, averaging a robust 25.7 touches per game over that stretch. Between his usage and effectiveness, don't be surprised if the rookie running back tops 80 rushing yards for the fourth straight game while delivering a touchdown or two in the process.

WR: Julio Jones, ATL vs. BAL ($29): A matchup with Baltimore's second-ranked passing defense (203.3 yards per game) and league-best scoring defense (18.0 points per game), has dropped Jones' price to $29. While many will look elsewhere rather than challenge this Ravens unit, brave owners willing to roll the dice with Jones could be handsomely rewarded. When else will you be able to get a guy on pace for 1,898 receiving yards this season for under $30?

Other Against-the-Grainers

QB: Case Keenum (DEN, $30); Tom Brady (NE, $32)
RB: Sony Michel (NE, $24); Justin Jackson (LAC, $10); Saquon Barkley (NYG, $30)
WR: Adam Humphries (TB, $20); D.J. Moore (CAR, $23); Demaryius Thomas (HOU, $15)
TE: Eric Ebron (IND, $21); Travis Kelce (KC, $30)
DST: Buffalo Bills ($14); Denver Broncos ($17)

CASH GAMES (H2H, 50/50s and DOUBLE UPS)

Quarterback

Jameis Winston, TB vs. CAR ($29)

Winston has racked up north of 300 passing yards in three of four starts this season, yet he can be had for just $29. While his 10:11 TD:INT this season is far from ideal, he's completed at least 73.2 percent of his passes in four of six appearances. Coming off a clinical 312-yard, two-touchdown performance in last week's win over the 49ers, Winston should keep the good times rolling against a Panthers defense that's giving up the 11th-most passing yards per game (260.1).

Running Back

Kareem Hunt, KC at OAK ($37)

The Chiefs are favored by more than two touchdowns, so the team's likely to build a big lead and then run the ball. With seven rushing scores and seven receiving touchdowns, Hunt should contribute to both the lead-building and the clock-killing portions of the contest. Plus, he's well-rested coming off a bye, and the Raiders are allowing a league-high 151.4 yards per game on the ground.

Gus Edwards, BAL at ATL ($21)

Edwards has burst onto the scene with over 100 rushing yards in each of the past two games, likely securing the majority of touches out of Baltimore's backfield regardless of Alex Collins' (foot) status. Atlanta's allowing 123.7 yards per game on the ground, and Baltimore would be well-served to give its defense as much rest as possible against the Falcons' high-powered offense, so the table has been set for a third straight performance of over 100 yards from Edwards.

Wide Receiver

Emmanuel Sanders, DEN at CIN ($25)

The reeling Bengals are allowing 292.2 passing yards per game -- second-most in the NFL. Sanders is the clear-cut No. 1 option in Denver's passing attack, and he's likely to exceed his season average of 77.2 receiving yards per game given the favorable matchup. With at least four receptions in every game this season, Sanders also offers a nice volume floor.

Stefon Diggs, MIN at NE ($27)

Diggs has at least 11 targets and eight catches in each of his last four appearances, and he's mustered 322 receiving yards over the past three while simultaneously compiling a three-game touchdown streak. New England's modus operandi on defense is taking away the other team's top offensive weapon, but that distinction goes to Adam Thielen in Minnesota's case, so Diggs is unlikely to see increased attention and can thus capitalize on a Patriots secondary that's allowing the eighth-most passing yards per game this season.

David Moore, SEA vs. SF ($13)

If you're looking to clear cap space for some of this slate's more expensive options, Moore's worth taking a flier on at just $13. He has five touchdowns in the past seven games and racked up 103 yards after halftime against the Panthers in Week 12. A San Francisco defense that's giving up 26.6 points per game will leave some holes to be exploited, and Moore's chemistry with quarterback Russell Wilson suggests the 23-year-old wide receiver is capable of capitalizing on any mistakes in coverage.

Tight End

Cameron Brate, TB vs. CAR ($18)

Back in a starting tight end role with O.J. Howard (ankle/foot) done for the year, Brate scored his 18th touchdown over the past three seasons in last week's win over the 49ers. His red-zone proficiency is likely to yield another score or maybe even more against a Panthers defense that's allowed eight touchdowns to tight ends this season, tied for most in the NFL.

Defense/Special Teams

Chicago Bears, CHI at NYG ($20)

Don't overthink this one. The Bears have been dominant defensively, scoring 12.0 or more fantasy points in eight of 11 games, including each of the past four. They've accumulated 14 sacks, nine interceptions, three fumble recoveries and four touchdowns in just this most recent four-game stretch. A Giants offense that's allowed 38.0 sacks -- one behind Tennessee's league-high total -- and is averaging only 21.5 points per game will be at Chicago's mercy.

Honorable Mentions

QB: Ben Roethlisberger (PIT, $36); Aaron Rodgers (GB, $31)
RB: Christian McCaffrey (CAR, $32); Aaron Jones (GB, $26); Lamar Miller (HOU, $19)
WR: Brandin Cooks (LAR, $26); Tyler Lockett (SEA, $23); JuJu Smith-Schuster (PIT, $26)
TE: Greg Olsen (CAR, $21); David Njoku (CLE, $16)
DST: Tennessee Titans ($14); Indianapolis Colts ($16)
