NFL Picks: Colts, Bengals and Cardinals

NFL Picks: Colts, Bengals and Cardinals

This article is part of our NFL Picks series.

I paced the Staff with a 12-4 week, but it made only a small dent in Pianwoski's lead as he went 11-5.

We have three unanimous picks this week: the Colts, Bengals and Cardinals. Both Erickson and Pianowski made the Colts their best bets, while Stopa took the Bengals as his.

Unanimous/Majority Picks

This week we have three more unanimous picks: the Colts, Bengals and Cardinals. Last week we were 2-3 on unanimous picks, winning with the Giants and Cardinals and losing with the Eagles, Jaguars and 49ers, bringing our season record to 7-7-1. We went 10-6 on majority picks (three or more writers) to bring our season record to 28-18-2. Last year we went 23-28-4 on unanimous picks and 121-121-14 on majority picks.

EricksonPick up the Colts defense this week if you can't get the Packers as a stream. The Texans' OL is awful, and the rebuilt young defense for the Colts is actually pretty decent, especially Darius Leonard.
PianowskiNot sure on Andrew Luck yet, but I think Frank Reich was a difference-making hire. I pretty much decided on fading Detroit after I saw how satisfied they were after beating New England.
LissI'm buying into Baker Mayfield completely, and the Browns already have a better defense than the Raiders. I also think the Jaguars will take apart Sam Darnold.
StopaFor the third straight week, what jumped out the most at me upon reviewing NFL lines was an Over/Under. But instead of the Chiefs (who are heading on the road on Monday night to a division rival), I'm eying the Falcons. Atlanta is an injury-riddled mess on defense, particularly at safety and linebacker, helping to explain the shootout with the Saints last week. The opening line, 48, was clearly too low, but even the current one (51) doesn't account for the defensive ineptitude resulting from the injuries. Against a Bengals team that is better than most people realize, I like the Over in a high-scoring game that Cincy may win outright.
Del DonI like Jacksonville to bounce back after an ugly loss last week and handle the Jets at home. I'll be teasing them with the Pats this week.
