The Monkeys dominated the league for much of the year, but they've since fallen back into a tie for first place with the Brothers after winning just three of their first nine games in June. Meanwhile, the Lions sit 6.5 games back in last place following an inconsistent month which has seen them follow up a four-game losing streak with a four-game winning streak, a run that was broken with their loss to the Guardians on Sunday. A pair of local lefties will take the mound Wednesday, the first game of a two-game series. The Monkeys will send out veteran Wang Yi-Cheng, whose 4.05 ERA and 1.32 WHIP are quite good given the CPBL's offensive explosion this season. In three starts against the Lions this year, he's allowed a total of five runs. The Lions will turn to Chiang Chen-Yen, whose 5.62 ERA and 1.47 WHIP are fairly decent considering how many runs are being scored this season. He hasn't fared well in three starts against the Monkeys, though, allowing 17 runs in 14 innings.

Wang Yi-Chen, Monkeys: The pitcher decision in this contest is a fairly easy one. Wang comes three credits cheaper yet has better numbers than Chiang Chen-Yen this season and won't have to face the Monkeys lineup, a unit which leads the league in runs per game.
Wu Chieh-Jui, Lions: As a cheap righty who bats near the top of the order, Wu is a great way to fill one of your required three Lions spots in a Monkeys-based lineup. He's hit .349 with a .423 on-base percentage through 16 games this season.
Lin Li, Monkeys: It's hard not to select Lin as captain every time the Monkeys take the field. He's having an incredible season, filling the leaderboards with his .406 batting average, 10 homers and 10 steals.
Lin Hung-Yu, Monkeys: Not many catchers are good enough at the plate to regularly fill the designated hitter spot or bat cleanup, but Lin is certainly the exception to the rule. The veteran's .373 batting average ranks third among qualified hitters this season.
