Gets extra year of eligibility
The NCAA granted Vickers an extra year of eligibility Monday, allowing him to compete for Utah in 2019, Dirk Facer of the Deseret News reports.
ANALYSIS
Vickers began his collegiate career in 2014, earning first-team all-NJCAA honors at Bakersfield College in California that same season. He took a redshirt in 2015 before returning to action for the JUCO program in 2016, but then sat out football in 2017. That missed year of action was apparently enough for Vickers to be awarded another season of action at Utah, whom he joined last season. Vickers drew only two targets in the passing game but had a role on special teams, appearing in five contests and returning four kickoffs.
