Shuffles out of Buffalo
June 24, 2019
Reed has officially transferred from Buffalo to FCS Maine, Rachel Lenzi of The Buffalo News reports.
ANALYSIS
Reed put up 840 rushing yards in 2017, but took a back seat to freshman Jaret Patterson in 2018 and posted just 371 yards on the ground. With Patterson set to lead the Buffalo backfield for 2-3 more years, Reed decided to move over to a program where he can compete for more carries. Reed is eligible to play immediately for the Black Bears -- where he'll be a senior -- because Maine is an FCS school. His main competition for carries would seem to be Ramon Jefferson, who posted 1,096 rushing yards last season.

2018 Fantasy Outlook
Reed put together a breakout season in 2017, rushing for 840 yards and nine touchdowns, while also surpassing the 100-yard mark five times. He’ll likely lose some touches to his teammate Theo Anderson (419 yards and two scores in 2017) during the upcoming season, although Reed figures to serve as the No. 1 back. Buffalo finished near the back of the pack in rushing attempts per game (34, 107th in FBS) and rushing yards (127, 106th in FBS) last year, so he’ll likely be forced to do some heavy lifting if he wishes to improve on his numbers from a season ago.
