Out for the season
Head coach Jim McElwain said Childress (knee) will miss the entire 2019 season, according to CM Life.
ANALYSIS
The nature of the injury is unclear, but Childress was apparently injured while playing basketball this offseason. A redshirt senior, he could apply for a medical hardship waiver and another year of eligibility, but McElwain hinted at a move into coaching.

2019 Fantasy Outlook
Childress played just seven games last year, with 15 receptions for 155 yards. He played in just two games in 2017 due to a torn ACL, so the solid finish he as a freshman in 2016 is a faded memory. That said, Central Michigan has a better quarterback in Quentin Dormady and the potential for the whole passing game can be raised. Childress will be worth watching into the season.
