Past Fantasy Outlooks
2019
2016
Platt will look to improve on his drops as he converted just 36 of his 69 targets in to catches in 2018. He will benefit from being the number two receiver behind Denzel Mims and the return of third-year starting quarterback Charlie Brewer. Considering his experience and Baylor's propensity for a productive offense, Platt should have fantasy viability in most fantasy leagues if drafted in later rounds.
Corey Coleman and Jay Lee are off to the NFL, meaning that Baylor will be trotting out some fresh faces at receiver this year. While KD Cannon and Ish Zamora are holdovers that will likely hold down two of the starting spots, Platt is the type of player that should see an increased role in the offense in 2016 as well. He appeared in 13 games last year as a redshirt freshman, catching just 11 out of 24 targets for 155 yards and a score. There are a couple factors that could work against Platt, such as Cannon and Zamora seeing the vast majority of the targets, or higher touted recruits potentially gaining an edge on him in fall camp. If Platt is able to hold off some of Baylor’s younger receivers and carve out a role as the Bears’ third receiver, he should see a fantasy-relevant amount of targets given that there isn’t necessarily a market share monster like Coleman on the team to take up one third of the targets.
