To enter NFL Draft
January 11, 2017
Williams will enter the NFL Draft, ESPN.com reports.
ANALYSIS
After posting 1,361 yards and 11 touchdowns in Clemson's National Championship-winning campaign, Williams heads into the draft as a likely first-round pick and a candidate to go first at the position. With Williams and Artavis Scott no longer at Clemson, Deon Cain and Ray Ray McCloud should see more snaps in 2017.

Past Fantasy Outlooks

2014
Williams (6-4, 220) missed nearly all last year after suffering a frightening neck injury in Week 1, but he likely has a superb season ahead. Williams is the biggest target and greatest TD threat among Clemson's receivers, and with the Deshaun Watson throwing to him, Williams should be among the nation's leading scorers. As a true sophomore in 2014, Williams caught 57 passes for 1,030 yards and six TDs, so he's already proven himself as one of the nation's best. It would be a mistake to consider Williams a risky pick – he's medically cleared and a ready-made star.
Williams is one half of Clemson's dominant wideout duo, the other being Artavis Scott. Both are top talents, with Williams the bigger receiver at 6-4, 210, while Scott is a slashing after-the-catch threat. Williams' skills make him a better fit for downfield and red-zone targets -- he averaged 18.1 yards per catch last season compared to Scott's 12.7. If he emerges as the leading touchdown target for star quarterback Deshaun Watson, he will have the upper hand in fantasy leagues, even if Scott has more receptions.
It seems that this is one name that won't go out of fashion any time soon, especially for wide receivers, for whatever reason. Like the ones from USC and Syracuse, this Mike Williams appears poised for a productive career at Clemson, and there's plenty of reason to think he'll emerge as the team's top receiver in 2014. Williams (6-foot-3, 205 pounds) is a big target who received high reviews for his practice performances heading into his true freshman season last year, and he followed through with a promising season despite losing a huge number of targets to NFL wideouts Sammy Watkins and Martavis Bryant. Williams snagged 20 catches for 316 yards (15.8 YPC) and three touchdowns, and he'll step up in a big way this year now that Watkins and Bryant are gone.
