2019 Tournament PreviewUCF appeared stuck on the bubble when the calendar turned to March, but the team added two Quad 1 wins, at Houston and vs. Cincinnati, to lock up an NCAA bid, despite losing its AAC tourney opener. While 7-foot-6 center Tacko Fall (10.9 ppg, 7.3 rpg, 2.5 bpg) garners national attention mostly for his height, he bolsters a defense that ranks 13th nationally by KenPom in effective field-goal percentage allowed. The offense runs through an upperclassmen backcourt in senior B.J. Taylor (16.0 ppg, 3.3 apg) and 6-6 junior Aubrey Dawkins (15.2 ppg, 5.0 rpg), the coach's son. Dawkins, a 39.2 percent 3-point shooter, is arguably the only consistent threat from outside - Taylor shoots 36.8 percent - for a team that gets just 28.3 percent of its points from behind the arc (264th in the nation). The Knights are inefficient from the foul line too, ranking 333rd in the nation at 64.5 percent. UCF has its work cut out for it in the tourney.
