Finds home at Boston College
GBoston College
June 18, 2019
Thornton committed Monday to join Boston College as a graduate transfer for his final season of eligibility in 2019-20, Jeff Goodman of WatchStadium.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Boston College will mark the third stop of his college career after Thornton began his career at Duke in 2015-16 before sitting out the 2016-17 campaign and then spending the past two seasons at USC. As a redshirt junior in 2018, Thornton started in 27 of 32 games for the Trojans, averaging 7.7 points, 4.3 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals in 27.8 minutes per contest. Due to his skills as a defender and ball handler, Thornton should be the top candidate to replace the departed Ky Bowman as the starting point guard, which would allow rising sophomore Wynston Tabbs (knee) to assume more of an off-ball role as a volume scorer.
