Daye announced Tuesday via his personal Twitter account that he will enter the transfer portal with the intention of leaving Florida International.
ANALYSIS
Daye will opt out of the rest of the 2020-21 season after averaging 17.1 points, 4.7 assists, 4.3 rebounds, 2.4 steals and 1.1 three-pointers in 31.6 minutes per game over 22 appearances (21 starts). Well regarded as both a scorer and defender, Daye should attract plenty of interest from both major-conference and mid-major programs alike. The 6-foot-3 junior may need a waiver from the NCAA in order to compete immediately in 2021-22 at his next school, however.
