Hayes provided 14 points (6-6 FG, 2-2 FT), three blocks, and two rebounds in a big 72-68 win over Purdue on Sunday.
ANALYSIS
Hayes has now had three blocks in five consecutive games, which has moved him up to fifth in the Big 12 at 2.6 BPG. The talented freshman has has been held up behind Dylan Osetkowski and Jericho Sims on the depth chart so far this season. He is playing 21 MPG and scoring 10.3 points and grabbing 4.9 rebounds per contest. Hayes has also made 70 percent of his field goal attempts. At some point Hayes probably passes up Sims and increases his minutes. Texas will host Grand Canyon on Saturday.
