Staying at Duke
GDuke
April 8, 2019
Jones will return to Duke for his sophomore season, Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
While it's a little surprising that Jones won't go through the pre-draft process to receive feedback from NBA scouts, the freshman has confirmed that he will return to the Blue Devils and play a second season of collegiate ball. The defensive-minded point guard averaged 9.4 points and 5.3 assists in his first season, but he was often left open from three because of his struggles shooting the long ball all season (only connecting at 26 percent clip). With the bulk of Duke's scoring from this past season likely leaving in Zion Williamson, RJ Barrett and Cam Reddish, he might be asked to take on more of that scoring role next year as he looks to continue to round out his skill set before testing the waters of professional ball.
