Mooney hit only 3-of-18 shots Wednesday against Louisville, finishing with seven points and 12 rebounds.
Mooney pulled down double-digit boards for the fifth straight time to close the season, giving him 24 such outings overall in a breakout junior campaign. His scoring slumped some down the stretch, likely a combination of him hitting a bit of a wall but also conference opponents catching up to his surprising development as a player. While Notre Dame will surely be healthier next season and Mooney could see fewer opportunities, he's also surely to benefit from an increase in surrounding talent. His 14.3 points and 11.2 rebounds won't sneak up on anyone in 2019-20, but there shouldn't be a dramatic falloff either.
