DFS College Basketball: Wednesday Preview

This article is part of our DFS College Basketball series.

Tonight's college basketball action includes nine top-25 teams in play, headlined by a showdown in Knoxville as Arizona travels to take on Tennessee. It's part of an eight-game DraftKings slate that is highlighted by the $10 Big Jam contest with $2,500 to first. Meanwhile, FanDuel features their $7.77 All-American contest and a $1,000 top payout, with both sites starting at 6 p.m. EST.

Top Players

Tevin Brown, G, Murray St. ($8,100 DK, $8,000 FD)

Brown is one of the best mid-major players in the country, as the four-year starter for Murray State is averaging over 19 ppg with impressive shooting splits of 54/46/80. Tonight's matchup against Auburn is the second highest over/under on the slate and a good one to stack. Brown is a solid player to start with, as he averages 34 minutes per game and played all 40 against Memphis. The high-volume scorer also has three games with at least five rebounds and assists thus far.

Santiago Vescovi, G, Tennessee ($7,100 DK, $6,200 FD)

Vescovi is enjoying a breakthrough junior season for the Volunteers, ranking second on the team in points and assists while also contributing 4.4 rebounds per game and 1.08 fantasy points per minute. Although it's a tough matchup against an undefeated Arizona squad, Vescovi put up 23 points against Villanova, so he's capable of playing well against elite competition. Arizona has posed a bigger problem for opposing frontcourts with their size in the paint, which should give opportunities for Vescovi -- a 37 percent career three-point shooter.

Middle Tier

Braelen Bridges, F, Georgia ($6,700 DK)

Bridges has been the most reliable offensive option for Georgia thus far, shooting 66 percent from the field on a 22.1 percent usage rate. With fellow frontcourt starter and leading rebounder Jailyn Ingram out for the season with a torn ACL, the Bulldogs have gone with a smaller starting lineup and Bridges has recorded a pair of 25+ point fantasy games in his absence. He should be able to take advantage of an East Tennessee State squad that doesn't include anyone over 6-9 in their rotation.

Sean McNeil, G, West Virginia ($5,800 DK)

The Mountaineers draw a great matchup tonight against Youngstown State, who ranks 291st in KenPom's defensive efficiency metric and has allowed 75+ points four times despite only playing one top-200 opponent. McNeil isn't coming off the floor much, logging at least 32 minutes in every game this season, and he has been the main offensive option outside of Taz Sherman. He posted five 20-point scoring games last year and should have an opportunity for his first of the season tonight.

Values

Jacob Ognacevic, F, Lipscomb ($4,900 DK)

Digging a little bit deeper on this slate leads us to Ognacevic, who is priced in the sub-$5k range despite averaging 28.8 fantasy ppg. After playing a bench role in his freshman campaign with Valparaiso, he's been a standout for Lipscomb with eight 20+ point scoring games already. As good as LSU has been defensively, Ognacevic is discounted too much to overlook, especially considering he put up 20 points and nine rebounds against Florida St.

Ledarrius Brewer, G, East Tennessee St. ($4,700 DK)

Brewer is probably going to be highly rostered tonight and with good reason -- he's posted 30+ fantasy points in four of his last five games. There's plenty of value to be had on the East Tennessee State side with all of its players being priced under $6k against a sub-.500 Georgia squad that likes to push the tempo. Brewer has taken a whopping 30.4 percent of the team's shots when he's on the floor and has posted a pair of double-doubles.
