Inefficient 16 points
GBirmingham Squadron   G League (Pelicans)
April 7, 2022
Young recorded 16 points (6-17 FG, 1-7 3Pt, 2-2 FT), six assists, a rebound and a steal across 35 minutes in Tuesday's loss to Texas.
ANALYSIS
Young wasn't efficient when it comes to his shooting, and while he still had a good game, his efforts were not enough to lift the Squadron into the next round of the playoffs. The former Oregon product ended the season with averages of 18.9 points and 5.8 assists per contest.

DraftKings NBA: Tuesday Cheat Sheet
November 24, 2015
Paul George is the highest priced small forward Tuesday, but RotoWire's Andre' Snellings explains why the Pacers forward is worth every penny.
Past Fantasy Outlooks
2017
2015
Young, in his second NBA season, played a deep reserve role with the Pacers last year. He appeared in just 33 contests and averaged 4.1 minutes, posting 2.1 points per game on 36.1 percent shooting. When initially drafted, it was though that Young could benefit from sliding down to the point-guard slot, rather than play at shooting guard, considering his 6-foot-2 frame. However, after deploying him at the one for 97 percent of his minutes during his rookie campaign, Young nearly split time between both guard slots during 2016-17, spending 51 percent of his time at the one and 49 percent of his minutes at the two. With the Pacers losing Paul George and Jeff Teague over the summer and replacing them with Darren Collison and Victor Oladipo, there could be more opportunities for Young to see time on the floor. That said, he’ll likely still have to beat out other reserves for minutes, such as Glenn Robinson and Cory Joseph. Lance Stephenson is somewhat of a jack-of-all trades all well, capable of playing three positions. Considering the tough road ahead for Young, it seems safe to avoid him in seemingly every Fantasy format during the upcoming 2017-18 campaign.
Young enters his rookie season in Indiana with an opportunity to supply some much needed scoring for the Pacers. Selected by the Pacers with the 43rd overall pick, Young was the reigning Pac 12 Player of the Year, averaging 20.7 points and 3.7 assists per game playing both point and shooting guard for Oregon as a senior. But at just 6-2, Young is also one of the smaller combo guards in this year's draft class. His best chance for an NBA career may be a transition to playing the point full-time, where his size wouldn't be as big a concern. That would mean for his rookie season in Indy, he'll have to fight George Hill and fellow combo-guards Monta Ellis and Rodney Stuckey for minutes, which, frankly, is not an insurmountable task. Young led the Orlando Pro Summer League in scoring, averaging 22.5 points, 3.2 assists, and 2.3 three-pointers per game on 51 percent shooting from the field and 45 percent shooting from downtown. His Orlando play definitely opened some eyes and earned him a big-league contract with the Pacers. He now must focus on learning the Pacers offense, making sure he can make the most of his early and probably infrequent opportunities to play.
