Boston Celtics

  1. Kemba Walker's assist-to-usage ratio is one of the lowest in the league. At just 0.79, it's in the fourth percentile for point guards.
  2. Kemba Walker has taken just 19 corner threes all year, for a rate of 2% of his total field-goal attempts. That ranks in the ninth percentile for point guards.
  3. Kemba Walker is shooting only 28% on short mid-rangers (26-of-94), which ranks in the seventh percentile for point guards.
  4. The Celtics' halfcourt offensive improves by 7.6 points per 100 possessions with Kemba Walker on the court -- a difference that ranks in the 94th percentile.
  5. Gordon Hayward's 18.2% assist rate is in the 90th percentile for forwards.
  6. Opposing teams take 5.9% fewer threes with Gordon Hayward on the court -- a difference that ranks in the 100th percentile.
  7. Gordon Hayward ranks in the 90th percentile for mid-range jumper frequency among forwards, taking 42% of his shots from that distance.
  8. Gordon Hayward hits 50% of his short mid-rangers (73-of-147), a clip that ranks in the 91st percentile among forwards.
  9. Jayson Tatum is one of the most iso-heavy players in the league. Only 47% of his made shots are assisted, which is in the 96th percentile for forwards.
  10. The Celtics are 10.9 points better per 100 possessions with Jayson Tatum on the court -- an improvement that ranks within the 95th percentile.
  11. Jayson Tatum draws a non-shooting foul on 1.9% of the Celtics' plays, which ranks in the 90th percentile for forwards.
  12. Since Jan. 1, Jayson Tatum has a block rate of 1.5%, which ranks in the 90th percentile for forwards.

  15. Opposing teams attempt 2.2% fewer shots at the rim with Marcus Smart on the court. That ranks in the 81st percentile, but not just for combo guards. For everyone.
  16. The Celtics have a +7.3 net rating with Marcus Smart at shooting guard. That number jumps to +10.2 with Smart at point guard.
  17. Jaylen Brown's 14.8% defensive field-goal rebounding rate is in the 91st percentile for wing players.
  18. Boston is 2.1 points per 100 possessions worse with Jaylen Brown on the court -- a difference that ranks in the 39th percentile.
  19. Enes Kanter is one of the best rebounders in the league. He ranks in the 98th percentile for offensive rebounds off field goals (15.2%), the 93rd percentile for defensive rebounds off field goals (26.1%), and the 86th percentile for offensive rebounds off free throws (7.1%).
  20. Grant Williams grabs just 10.1% of opposing teams' missed field goals, which ranks in the third percentile for bigs.
  21. Teams shoot 5.0% worse at the rim with Daniel Theis in the game -- a difference that ranks in the 90th percentile.
  22. Since the All-Star break, Daniel Theis is scoring 140.4 points per 100 shot attempts, and that efficiency ranks in the 90th percentile for bigs.
  23. Since 2007-08, the Celtics have never ranked worse than 10th best in defensive three-point accuracy. They're 6th this season and have ranked first on three separate occasions.
  24. Boston is the best transition defense team in the NBA, allowing just 113.2 points per 100 transition plays.

  26. Boston's worst lineup that has played over 100 possessions has a -1.7 net rating. It's the same as the above lineup, but replaces Jayson Tatum with Jaylen Brown.
  27. The Celtics' small-ball lineups -- ones that don't include Enes Kanter, Daniel Theis, Robert Williams or Tacko Fall -- have a +7.0 net rating in 915 possessions.
  28. Boston is third in the NBA in net rating (+6.7) and fourth in spread differential (+2.5).
  29. On the road against top-10 point differential opponents, Boston has the second-highest point differential (+1.9) and the second-highest spread differential (+5.7)
  30. The Celtics are 7-0 against opponents who are on the second night of a back-to-back, also posting the best point differential (+18.7) and spread differential (+11.9).
