DraftKings NBA: Tuesday Cheat Sheet

DraftKings NBA: Tuesday Cheat Sheet

This article is part of our DraftKings NBA series.

Guards

James Harden, HOU at DEN ($10,500): With only three games on this slate, it's impossible to fade a player with Harden's upside. He showed that upside in his most recent game, as he dropped 66 fantasy points in his best game of the year. It's Harden's high floor that really makes him intriguing, though, as he hasn't scored fewer than 42 DraftKings points in any game this season. Harden obliterated the Nuggets last season, averaging 30 points, 7.7 rebounds and 9.9 assists in three games

Jordan Clarkson, CLE vs CHA ($5,700): Clarkson has quietly been a usage stud for the Cavaliers this season, and he currently leads Cleveland in that category. In fact, his 26.3 usage rate is five percent higher than anyone else on this roster. It's the fact that George Hill (shoulder) is out now that really adds to his value, as Clarkson is averaging 28 minutes per game since he went down. Clarkson is averaging 31.5 fantasy points in his last two games. Not to mention, Charlotte allows the second-most fantasy points to opposing shooting guards this season.

Quinn Cook, GS vs. ATL ($5,500): Cook has filled in admirably for the injured Stephen Curry, and he'll be looking at his third straight start Tuesday night. In two starts thus far, he's averaging 27 DraftKings points per game. Even before the Curry injury, Cook had been playing well and averaging 23 DraftKings points across 18 minutes per game over the last three contests. Atlanta is a spectacular matchup, as the Hawks allow the most fantasy points in the league to opposing point guards.

Forwards

Paul Millsap, DEN vs. HOU ($5,600): Millsap has traditionally been a $7,000 player throughout his career and he showed that upside in his most recent game. Millsap dropped 51 fantasy points against Milwaukee on Sunday, and he's now scored at least 25 DraftKings points in seven of his last eight games. The matchup Tuesday is also advantageous, with Houston allowing the third-most fantasy points to opposing power forwards this season.

Nicolas Batum, CHA at CLE ($5,800): Batum has struggled over his last three games but it's adjusted his price to this appealing $5,800 tag. He's still averaging 26.5 DraftKings points per game for the season, and he gets a matchup against a horrific Cavaliers defense on Tuesday.

P.J. Tucker, HOU at DEN ($4,300): Using players who get empty minutes is usually dangerous for DFS purposes but it can be a necessity on a three-game slate like this. The fact that Tucker is averaging 36 minutes a game makes him worth a look, but the $4,300 price tag makes him a near must-use. That's simply too many minutes to pass up at this price. Tucker has a low ceiling, but he's still providing 22 fantasy points per game, and he's played even more since Carmelo Anthony went AWOL.

Centers

Clint Capela, HOU at DEN ($6,400): This was one of the most surprising values on this slate, as Capela's price has dropped $1,400 in the last week. That price drop really doesn't make much sense, considering Capela has scored at least 30 DraftKings points in all 12 games this season. In addition, Capela is averaging over 36 fantasy points per game for the season, which alone is approaching 6X value. Capela absolutely abused Denver last season, averaging 12.3 points, 13.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in just 24 minutes per game. That aforementioned stat line appears to be his floor, as Capela is up around 33 minutes per game in 2018-19.

Tristan Thompson, CLE vs. CHA ($5,700): Thompson has quietly been a great player for the Cavs this season, as he's back to being a double-double machine. Thompson has three straight double-doubles, and he's averaging 40 DraftKings points per game in that span. In addition, Charlotte is definitely a matchup worth exploiting, as the Hornets allow the eighth-most fantasy points to opposing centers this season.
