Hill elected free agency after being outrighted to Triple-A Columbus by Cleveland on Friday, Mandy Bell of MLB.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Hill made his big-league debut in 2020 and had a 4.91 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 16:5 K:BB across 18.1 innings, but he spent all of 2021 at Triple-A. He's eligible for arbitration, but he'll instead become a free agent after being removed from Cleveland's 40-man roster.

Should be ready for 2021 season
PCleveland Guardians
December 2, 2020
Hill (wrist) suffered a car accident Monday but should still be ready by the time the 2021 MLB season begins, according to Zack Meisel of The Athletic.
ANALYSIS
Hill suffered a wrist injury that required surgery, but the 26-year-old indicated that he and everyone else involved in the crash came out unscathed, meaning he should be just fine to pitch next season. Hill made his MLB debut in 2020 and posted a 4.91 ERA across 18.1 innings.

2021 Fantasy Outlook
After six seasons in the minors, Hill finally got his chance in the big leagues in 2020. The results in his first 18 major-league appearances are nothing to write home about. Hill does not throw particularly hard, but his slider showed flashes of becoming a good out pitch. Home runs burned him in his debut with Cleveland, but neither righties nor lefties did much damage against Hill otherwise. Hill showed an increased strikeout punch at Triple-A in 2019, but that did not translate in his first exposure to big-league hitters (22.2 K%), so it's tough to see much upside as Hill approaches his 27th birthday. A car accident late in the calendar year resulted in an injury requiring surgery to Hill's throwing wrist. He said in an Instagram post that he would be ready for the start of the 2021 season.
