Starting season in Triple-A
Park has been informed he will start the season at Triple-A Las Vegas, although the transaction has yet to be made official, Athletics team reporter Jessica Kleinschmidt relays.
ANALYSIS
Kleinschmidt adds that the move, when it does occur, won't be related to performance, but rather, a factor of Opening Day roster construction. The offseason addition swung a blistering bat all spring, and given the typically hitter-friendly conditions of the Pacific Coast League, Park could well put together a favorable enough body of work in the minors to earn a quick promotion to the big-league club.

Park had a .649 OPS in 60 plate appearances for the Pirates last season, and he was traded to the Red Sox in November only to later be flipped to Atlanta. He didn't have much better luck at the Triple-A level in 2022 with a .686 OPS in 89 contests. The potential departure of Dansby Swanson opens up significant playing time in Atlanta's middle infield, but Park is unlikely to be a direct beneficiary, especially after he was booted from the 40-man roster in January. Park could work as a utility option but shouldn't be expected to have a regular role in the lineup, assuming he sees the majors at all.
