McKenna (hip) will be ready to rejoin the lineup for Thursday's match versus Hawthorn.
ANALYSIS
McKenna took last week off to tend to a hip injury, but it was clearly a minor issue that leaves him in a good spot health-wise heading into round 14. He turned in arguably his best round of the campaign just prior to the injury, racking up 17 disposals and a season-high six marks versus St. Kilda.

August 21, 2020
McKenna will miss Saturday's match versus Richmond with what senior coach John Worsfold termed a "slight strain in a muscle up high on his hip".
ANALYSIS
Given that McKenna's issue is believed to be minor, there's a good chance he will be back with the team in relatively short order. He was the only injury among a gluttony of changes to the Bombers' lineup Saturday.

McKenna (finger) has been cleared to take the field against Western on Saturday, The Age reports.
ANALYSIS
McKenna underwent surgery to address a fractured finger earlier this week, but he's already received official clearance to play as soon as Sunday's tilt against the Bulldogs. However, coach John Worsfold said that an ultimate decision on McKenna's status will come down to how well he feels prior to the match, so it's still possible that the defender could end up missing time.

Finger
July 13, 2020
McKenna fractured his finger Saturday in Essendon's 67-53 win over North Melbourne in Round 6, Callum Twomey of the Bombers' official site reports.
ANALYSIS
Essendon expects McKenna to require a procedure and miss time as a result of the injury, but until a determination on surgery is made, the 24-year-old should be viewed as doubtful for the Bombers' Round 7 match versus Western on Friday. McKenna, who had been sidelined earlier this season while recovering from COVID-19, made his 2020 debut in Round 6, totaling 18 disposals, four tackles and two marks.

McKenna (illness) has served his one-match ban for breaching the AFL's COVID-19 protocols, Tom Morris of FoxSports.com reports.
ANALYSIS
McKenna tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday and was expected to remain in isolation for 14 days, but after testing negative on multiple subsequent occasions the league has cleared him to return. As a result, the Bombers will have McKenna available against Collingwood on July 3.
