Breaks through in win over Hawks
FGold Coast Suns
May 29, 2021
Rankine logged 19 disposals, six marks, four goals, three tackles and a single goal assist and clearance each Saturday as Gold Coast defeated Hawthorn 113-76 at SCG.
ANALYSIS
Rankine scored a career-high four goals - three in the first period alone - and conjured up personal-bests for both kicks (12) and disposals in Saturday's contest. The performance was an impressive break from the norm for the 21 year-old and should go a long way in quieting those who have spent much of the season criticizing the forward for failing to live up to the high expectations set forth during a solid 2020 rookie campaign.

Scores in draw
FGold Coast Suns
August 12, 2020
Rankine scored one goal and two behinds to add to 14 disposals (10 kicks, four handballs) and made three marks during Wednesday's 73-73 draw with Essendon.
ANALYSIS
Rankine needs to score majors more consistently, but the young player looks fit to be a star after scoring his goal from long range and coming close on a couple of other chances. He's gotten onto the scoresheet in every one of his starts this season and looks to be a consistent performer through his reasonable disposal numbers.
Stars in debut
FGold Coast Suns
July 11, 2020
Rankine scored three goals and three behinds to go with 12 disposals from eight kicks and four handballs during Saturday's 80-63 loss to Melbourne.
ANALYSIS
The highly touted prospect of Rankine did not disappoint when he scored on the first kick of his career. After missing all of last season due to injury, Rankine was impressive despite the loss. With Matthew Rowell (shoulder) out, Suns need another player to step up with goals and Rankine could fill that role for a team that relies on young talent.

June 16, 2020
Rankine (hamstring) will take the field in a match sim versus Adelaide this weekend, Peter Ryan of The Age reports.
ANALYSIS
With that being the case, Rankine can officially be ruled out of the team's senior match Saturday, but he can still be cleared of the hamstring issue that has been bothering him. Rankine could be a candidate to make his AFL debut at some point this season.

June 8, 2020
Rankine won't be available for Saturday's Round 2 matchup with West Coast due to a hamstring injury, AFLRatings.com.au reports.
ANALYSIS
According to Suns general manager of football operations Jon Haines, Rankine is "a couple of weeks away" from playing after injuring his hamstring in a recent training session. The staff is expected to bring him along slowly as he continues to work his way back for a potential debut with the Suns at some point this season.
