Suffers concussion in loss

Concussion
August 28, 2021
McStay was subbed out of Saturday's 93-60 qualifying loss to Melbourne due to concussion concerns, Fox Sports reports.
ANALYSIS
McStay exited Saturday's contest early in the first term after sustaining a blow to the face from teammate Nakia Cockatoo's knee during a marking contest. He was subbed out in favor of Rhys Mathieson, who went on to contribute 13 disposals, five tackles, three marks and a single clearance in the losing effort. The 29 year-old's absence in next week's semi-final clash between Brisbane and either Western or Essendon leaves the Lions with a clear void to fill at forward.

Bags four majors in win
FBrisbane Lions
August 1, 2021
McStay kicked four goals to go with 16 disposals (eight kicks, eight handballs) and made eight marks during Sunday's 92-80 loss to Hawthorn in Round 20.
ANALYSIS
McStay had the best performance of his season at the right time but inefficiency elsewhere ended up costing his Lions the final result. As he's capable of scoring 90 fantasy points but only averages 9.7 disposals per game, McStay isn't the most reliable target.
Scores four in win
FBrisbane Lions
May 15, 2021
McStay scored four goals to go with 14 disposals (nine kicks, five handballs) and made eight marks during Saturday's 124-51 win over Gold Coast.
ANALYSIS
McStay has scored in all five of his appearances this season but finally made his mark on a game with the most majors of any player in this match. Given that he was also able to be active in possession, McStay could be a potentially valuable target with more performances like this one over the coming weeks.
Set for season debut
FBrisbane Lions
April 16, 2021
McStay (knee) will make his season debut Saturday versus Essendon.
ANALYSIS
McStay had been sidelined for the first four rounds by a lingering knee issue but is finally set to retake the field in 2021 Saturday. He finished out the 2020 season averaging 0.6 goals, 0.4 behinds, 7.4 disposals and 3.2 marks in shortened quarters. McStay slots in among the forwards alongside Eric Hipwood and Charlie Cameron.
Quiet in Saturday's victory
FBrisbane Lions
September 19, 2020
McStay finished with just five disposals (three kicks, two handballs), three tackles and one mark in Saturday's 78-61 victory over Carlton.
ANALYSIS
In one of McStay's poorer performances for the season, the forward struggled to have an impact in the wet conditions. Despite the teams' success this season, McStay has failed to reach any great heights outside of the occasional strong performance.
Suspension over
FBrisbane Lions
August 6, 2020
McStay has served his suspension and will be available for Saturday's match versus Western.
ANALYSIS
McStay was handed a two-match ban for his high bump on Melbourne's Neville Jetta. With his punishment paid, he should be in the mix for selection again in Round 11 as he looks to retake his spot among the forwards.
