Tomlinson (knee) will miss the remainder of the 2021 season, Ben Gibson of the Demons' official site reports.
Tomlinson's torn ACL made it seem likely this was the outcome and he has already undergone surgery for the injury. He will now begin his recovery and rehab to retake the field during the 2022 campaign.

Suffers ruptured ACL

Tomlinson suffered a ruptured left ACL in the first term of Sunday's match versus North Melbourne.
Tomlinson will consult with a surgeon this week to determine the best course of action , but he's likely headed for a lengthy stay on the sidelines regardless of the next step. It seems the most likely outcome is that Tomlinson won't take the field in AFL action again until 2022.

Tomlinson won't return to the Round 7 match against North Melbourne after suffering a left knee injury.
Tomlinson went down with a non-contact injury, so the initial fears are that he's dealing with a serious issue and long-term absence. Nathan Jones entered as the medical substitute for the Demons.
